Number Ninety-Three: Anticipating Growth

Happy New Year! I am looking forward to so many wonderful things in 2012 and keeping up with this project is definitely one of them. I'm loving AOMi and in just the short time I've been at it I've learned a lot. Thank you so much for following along so far and please stay with me as I try more and more apps and techniques. I want 2012 to be all about growing creatively and personally especially in the areas of productivity and time management. Here's hoping I'll do it!

This tree was created first in Harmonius where I used green, blue and brown on the Chrome setting to sketch everything. When I was finished there I took a screen shot then imported that into Corel's Paint It! Now where I used the Oil filter to fancy it up even more. I like the dreamy quality it gave it.

Number Fifty-Nine: Birds Over Water

I first drew this picture in Harmonius, an app which is a particular favourite of mine. Since Harmonious saves pictures drawn in it at a very small size I usually post-process them in another app that saves them larger. In this case I used Corel's Paint It! Now; another favourite app of mine which you already know if you've been reading along with the project!

This time I did take advantage of the colour function in Harmonious although I kept it muted. Be sure to click to see the picture at full size.

Number Forty: Freaky Tree

I sketched this tree using the Harmonius app. I wasn't going for any particular type of tree but liked the Seussian feel it had. Since Harmonius produces such tiny pictures I used the Oil filter in Corel's Paint It! Now to change it up and make it bigger. I was very pleased with the result.

You can actually use colour in Harmonius; I just often forget that and draw an entire picture before I remember. The effect that the procedural drawing creates is always so neat that it just doesn't enter my mind!

Number Twenty-Four: Wordy Seagull

I drew this seagull using Harmonius again. It sat around for a while as a fairly small picture until I downloaded WordFoto; an interesting app that takes pictures and turns them into amazing typographic pieces. It also enlarges the picture you use which is handy when it comes to pieces produced by apps like Harmonius.

I love seagulls and like to draw them whenever I can so a few more will probably show up over the course of this project. They're so free and hardy and beautiful.

Number Seven: Harmonious Turtle

This cute turtle was drawn using the Harmonious procedural drawing app. I've loved this tool since using it on the Harmony web app years ago and was thrilled to discover an iPhone app for it. The biggest (hah) drawback is that the iPhone app produces such tiny little pictures; only 320x480. Of course you can create yourself lots of fun little pieces of art and the app is free so I can't complain too much!
